SIGNS THAT YOUR GLUTES ARE WEAK


Why even care, when most of us looks just fine from behind? :)

Glutes are the most powerful muscles in your entire body, but tend to be the weakest since we 1) don’t train them properly (squats and deadlift aren’t enough), 2) we sit on them most of the day (so they don’t even fulfil their basic function).

Test yourself now, here are the check points:


▪️Back kick pulse

✅ You should be feeling deep contraction on the cheek of your glutes

‼️ if you can not feel contraction, maybe only your hamstrings sore or your stabilizing leg, then it means you need to work on mind to muscle connection


▪️Bridge

First, to perform properly the bridge, your hips should be high (should be straight line with your quads and torso). Where do you feel cramping?

✅ if it’s in the glutes, great!

‼️ if it’s your hamstrings, it means that your hamstring muscles take over the work, bc your glutes are not strong enough


▪️Single leg bridge

You might did well on the bridge, but here’s how you can really find out if you have weak glutes.

🔀 Lift left leg up, to test right side \ lift right leg up to test left side

‼️ when you lift your leg, does your hips start to sag? If yes, it means that the glutes of the stabilizing leg (the one on the ground) is weak

‼️ start rotating? another red flag

‼️ start getting cramping in the hamstring? you know the answer, your glutes should be driving hip extension (not hamstrings)


▪️Front lunge with weight in opposite side

‼️ Is your hip tilting to balance the weight? You start to wobble? Your glutes are not strong enough to stabilize the movement.

✅ Strong glutes allows you to to perform the lunge with stability
